Help
When i turn on my PC nothing comes on i just rebuilt this rig and it seems to be all fine its a 7900 gt with a 500w psu its worked before very well but now its not, the fans and stuff are working but nothing comes up on the screen at boot. Do you have and suggestions or ideas what could be wrong or what might lead to this situation?

Hello mikebrudu,
Have you checked to make sure all the connections are connected properly?
Can you get into the BIOS?
Have you tried booting without the graphics card?(boot from onboard)

The one thing that I would check for carefully...would be bent pins for key connections/devices.
I had a similar situation when I changed motherboards and CPU...turned out that I had bent some CPU pins which, when straightened, corrected everything.

I don't have any onboard video, so I can't check it like that. But it wouldn't be the CPU because the whole time the heatsink and CPU were still on the motherboard the whole time.

OK...when you said "rebuilt", I immediately thought of a motherboard and/or CPU change 
.
In that case...reseat your video card and RAM...that's about all that I can think of.

we already tried it on another monitor and we reseated the ram and the graphics card and were going to run some tests today involving another computer. we will keep you all updated and we appreciate your help thus far.

No problem, glad to help. The only other thing I can think of is damaged cables.

ok, good news and bad news.
i we tried putting the card into another computer, and it ran on the computer just fine, despite a few blue screens and twitchiness. so this makes me wonder. even if the card is messed up, it should at least allow something to show up on the screen.

What were the results when you tried the monitor on that spare system? could you get a picture?

Not necessarily...a constant problem with no other contributing factors...yes, that might be a valid conclusion.
The fact that you had BSODs with the video card on another system certainly indicates a problem with the card in my world.
That, combined with the possibility of problems with the motherboard, PSU, monitor, etc...would keep me working on it.

yes, when it ran on the other monitor we saw results, but often just BSOD's.
