Hello blackhawk5941,

i would say that some form of online certification would be best if looking for a job. I found that amazon has all the books I could ever need, it doesn't really matter how old the books are as the older books will give a better understanding of the fundamentals and history of PC's.
Regards,

Alan.

Join the Navy. Or go to a tech school. In the long run you'll be better off than trying to self-teach. I'm in school studying to be an IT specialist right now. And I'm old

I statrted working with/on computers in the early seventies. But 30 years of experience isn't worth sh*t, today.

A+ certification is the place to start.
You should buy computer parts and try to put together a PC yourself.
There are tons of tutorials online to help you.

For theory, the above links are good. For hands on, nothing beats picking up an older Plll and rip it apart and put it back together again.

Good Luck
