Zone Alarm appears to be working (has running programs listed etc) and says it's up-to-date. Although, for months now, the interface has listed almost no intrusion attempts. "1 blocked intrusions since install", "the firewall has blocked 5 access attempts". I posted before how that seems awfully low, especially compared to how many attempted intrusions and blocks there were with my previous ISP. I've uninstalled and reinstalled ZA before because of this and it still isn't logging much. So I think maybe Panda is right about my firewall. Is Panda ActiveScan known to make errors with this or should I be more concerned? |

Hello PCIlliterateGal,
I am not aware of this problem with panda. However, would you consider a different firewall? http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ would be my recommendation. -------------------- Regards

Yep, I'm currently looking at other firewalls. I'm trying to decide between Comodo, Sunbelt and Sygate.

They are all good products,
I find Comodo to be the best and Sygate a close second. But that's just my opinion, it is really down to preference. I would advise trying them one at a time and see which one you like best. -------------------- Regards

I finally managed to uninstall ZoneAlarm. I decided to try Sygate first, since they say it's easy for a firewall "novice". No problems so far.

Sygate is a good choice for firewall.
