Hey guys, well I have a problem with these colorded vertical lines going down my HP Pavilion laptop screen. They first appeard a couple months ago, but then there was only like two very skinny lines. But now its getting kind of bad. I was wondering what is causing it, and is there a way to get rid of them?

2 things to try. Download and reinstall the video driver. It could possibly be overheating. Use a can of compressed air and blow out the vents
Worth a shot

I would continue. It won't damage anything. The file you already have could be corrupt

Do you have a desktop monitor around that you can plug into to see if the picture is OK on that?

Can you look inside any vents and check if they're clogged with dust?
