Excel Won't Open Files i have to manual look and open

My problem is (Office 2000) that when i click on an excel file, excel will open but say ready on the bottom. Instead of just opening the file i clicked on. So I manually have to go find the file and open it. Is there any remedy for this so it opens when i click on it?

Hello bandit4747,

Do you have the office 2000 CD, you may need to do repair the instalation of office.

Yes just did a total reinstall. still doesn't work

Nevermind looked a bit futher at this site and someone found how to do it
"Everyone a fix!!!!! open excel to tools, to options, general tab and UNCHECK ignore other applications. "
