Hi, i am a newbie!

I have become desperate with regards to my pc!
I have loads of problems with viruses over the last six months but I think I have managed to clean it all up.
I installed Comodo firewall and avast antivirus and it has been working fine. I then went away for a week and
switched it on and now it's saying it 'cannot connect to server' even though the wireless connection says it is working fine.

I have noticed however that in Comodo the intrusion attempts has gone up to ridiculous levels, something like 65 in
about 10 minutes so I panicked and switched it off.

What is going on here?
I really can't figure it out so I have had to go into work to post this.

Thanks.
