BleepingComputer.com: Dvi-hdmi Help

I am installing a projector in this guys' house, and I can't get it to work right. I have a hdmi cable coming from the back of my reciver into my projector, and it wont get any video. Ive tried every imput available on the projector, and nothing attached to the reciever displays on the projector. Then, If I hook a PS3 directly up to the projector going from HDMI on the PS3, and DVI on the projector, I just get volume. This doesnt even make sense, you should'nt even get volume through DVI. I am using a stand monster cable HDMI cable with a DVI converter on it. The projector I am using is a Sharp XV-Z10,000

If anyone can help me with this right away, I would really appreciate it, he wants it hooked up soon.
