I am having Win2000 Professional desktop system. When I start up my computer, it asks me for my login id and password and after it is done validating my credentials and loading the desktop , it throws me "Windows Explorer EXE - Application Error". The description is given below Explorer EXE - Application Error The instruction at "0x732e69ff" referenced memory at "0xfe116477". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program Click on CANCEL to debug the program. When I click on the OK button, all the desktop items disappears and the screen becomes blank. When I Click on the CANCEL button, it says JIT debugging is not installed. Please help me how to resolve this issue. Sincere thanks in advance. Yaro |

Either explorer.exes became corrupt, or you might have some bad memory. You can run Memtes86 to see if the memory is alright. Try doing one module at a time.
You want the prebuilt with the ISO and burn it to a CD http://www.memtest.org/#downiso -------------------- Mark

I ran it twice and NO errors both the time. Could you please suggest me the next course of action to resolve this issue. Sincere Thanks. This post has been edited by YARO: Aug 22 2008, 09:32 AM |

We are quickly approaching the extent of my abilities. I would suggest rebooting then stat tapping the F8 key, like you're going into safemode. When you get to the black and white screen that ask what you want to do, select Start with last known good configuration.

Start Safe Mode, and disable any programs that start when Windows Starts then reboot. It could be one those programs is having issues. I know with Steam, that this issue arises with a poorly configured firewall or other networking device.
