Hi all,

after being infected with Antivirus 2008, i have lost the ability too work wirelessly at home. The D link software has become corrupt and is not functioning at all, the ip customer service guy advised me too remove the program and reload, but i just cannot remove it in Add or remove, or from the program list in the start menu. Can anybody advise on the next step please ?

Cheers

Is the program been completely removed off of your computer? To be 100% sure reformat your computer, that fixes all problems lol.

Have you reset the router?

If you try again to install the program, there is sometimes a fix facility built in to the installer. This should fix the installation enough to allow you to remove the program and do a fresh install.

If you are unable to remove the software, you can try inserting the wireless CD and try and install again, it should just overwrite the previous installation.

Are you sure you removed the infection? Just in case it is still there.

Alan.

I have tried to re-install the software using the disk that came with the router to no avail mate. I receive a message to the affect of " make sure your ethernet cable is plugged in and check your network cards " ????

the program doesnt even run from start anymore.

Have you checked your network card? Also, do you have a spare ethernet cable?

Alan.

If the router is now working there is no real need to check the network card.

Alan.

The router is only working via the Ethernet cable, i have no wireless connection or Dlink interface available.
