They told me that one of the problems (the computer had become very slow at times) was because the antivirus/antispyware programs I was using were very likely incompatible with Vista and with each other. The programs I was using were:- Avast free antivirus Comodo free firewall Spybot search and destroy Ad-Aware C Cleaner Are these likely to have been a problem with Vista? -------------------- I used to think I was indecisive.... but now I'm not too sure

Well, speaking from personal experience I would say no. I currently have all of those on Vista except for Ad-Aware which I did have installed to test for a while. I never had a compatibility problem with any of them.
Edit to add: Just to be thorough, the only things there that might have caused problems as far as I can see would be if you were running Ad-Aware's real-time protection and Spybot's TeaTimer, but you would have had to have bought Ad-Aware for that to even be an issue. I wasn't running either Ad-Aware real-time protection or TeaTimer. I think the store manager was wrong and the problem was with the computer rather than the software I was running. -------------------- I used to think I was indecisive.... but now I'm not too sure

I would get rid of Ad-aware & Spybot and replace with SAS tbh.
