In my old thread after considering the cost building my own computer, I've decided along with other members advice to just buy a pre-built one. Also, I believe if I get too high-tech equipment I won't be able to utilize it, as I'm not playing any serious games or for a long time. I'm upgrading from a 250gb, Single-core Pentium 4, 512mb RAM.

Uses:

Mostly using Microsoft Office
Browsing forums + going on websites
Research, homework
Gaming (Rarely when I have free time, around once in 2 weeks :D)
Lots of security programs (I have 1 active anti-virus, 1 active Firewall and 1 active anti-spyware)
Music (All of the time when I'm on the computer)
Storing Data (My 250GB HDD is a few gigs away from being full)
Running Applications (Photoshop, iTunes, MSN, etc)

Now this thread will only be for me to post the desktop (not accesories: screen, keyboard etc) I'm trying to keep the build not including accessories nothing over $700 CDN.

Here are the list of computers I have narrowed it down to:

The best one for the money, I think, is this one:

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...87&catid=20217
=$549.99

Base Features
Processor Type Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Processor Speed 2.4GHz
RAM 3072MB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM
Hard Drive Speed/Capacity 500GB 7200RPM
Optical Drives DVD Burner w/ LightScribe
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
Pre-loaded Operating System Windows Vista Home Premium

The graphics card isn't that great, but you can always upgrade it if you want to. By the way, the links you provided didn't work, but I don't think it really matters because you posted most of the important info.

I agree with Sterling, his listed PC is of much better value. With the money you're saving you can get a better graphics card.

Links are updated. Yeah, like you mentioned the graphics card doesn't matter to me, I'm not gaming at all, so it's not important. I just watch videos on YouTube and watch movies + TV series on my computer.

Bumping is not necessary for this thread. If you just have to get a PC at one of the links you've provided, I would go for the last one. It gives you good performance for a low price and will allow for expansion.
