As the topic says, I was browsing the net this evening, when I suddenly got this small popup, stating "Out of memory line:1" thats was all, and an OK button.
So far I have not experienced any troubles, but what does this mean?
I have a Toshiba sattelite 1000, with 512 MB Ram and at least 15 GB left.

I'm guessing that the 15GB left over is the free space in your hdd? What is the total size of the hdd?
If you click on My Computer and hold your pointer over the C: drive it will show the free space and the total size.
