I'm trying to turn an old desktop hard drive into an external hard drive, but am not sure what size enclosure would be the correct one. My hard drive is a Western Digital Caviar 20GB, and the model number is WD200BB-00CAA1. I've googled the damned thing and can't get anything telling me if it's a standard 3.5" or some other wonky size.

It's 3.5-inch, PATA/IDE.

There are also 3.5-inch SATA drives, so pay attention to specs when purchasing an enclosure.

Thanks so much! That's no problem, I'm ordering off Newegg and it's easy to narrow the search for the proper type of enclosure from there, thankfully.

One consideration you may wish to consider would be to purchase a case that has its own power supply and fan.
