New Member Group: Members Posts: 4 Joined: 2-August 08 Member No.: 227,072	I've got a bit of a problem perhaps someone here will know how to solve. I just built a system about 3 weeks ago. This week it seems to randomly shut down like it was turned off. All the temps seem to be normal. I'm not overclocking it. I'm clueless. The psu is a logysis 650w unit. The cpu is a Intel core 2 duo 3.0 Ghz processor. A Zerotherm cpu cooler. 4 GB G skill DDR2 memory. EVGA 8800 GTS K.O. edition 512MB video card. Western Digital 320 GB 7200 Hard drive. MSI 680i SLI Motherboard. CPU temp right now is 33.5C. FSB is at 1333Mhz and memory at 800 Mhz....I cant seem to figure out what is going on. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.....If you need more info let me know. Thanks! Visually handicapped, hence the avatar :0) Group: Moderator Posts: 14,526 Joined: 2-October 05 From: Southeastern CT, USA Member No.: 35,824	The 3 most common Vista troubleshooting tools are: 1) Go to Start and type "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Let the report run, and then let us know about any of the items that are noted down to the Software Configuration heading. 2) Go to Start and type "perfmon" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Click on the Reliability Monitor in the left hand pane, and look for the errors in the right hand pane - let us know what they say. If there's too many, just use the last few days. 3) Go to Start and type "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. In the left hand pane, click on Windows Logs, then click on the System log files - then check in the right hand pane for errors around the time of the shutdown. You can also check the Application log file for errors in case this generated an error that could have caused this (but it's less likely than the System log files). -------------------- - John If you need a more detailed explanation, please ask for it.
