Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist whose "last lecture" about facing terminal cancer became an Internet sensation and a best-selling book, died Friday. He was 47.

YouTube Link to the Lecture : here Advisory the lecture is One Hour Sixteen Minutes Long. But well worth it.

I know this topic has a video in it. But this is more about recognizing the death of a gifted person than it is about a video.
The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

Thanks for posting that, Animal. I had stumbled upon that video on YouTube a few months ago I believe. I watched it and just thought, wow he really gets it. A gifted person indeed and definitely a video I would recommend. May he rest in peace.

I just wanted to edit to say I had actually come across this version before:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184
which while it is longer I think it shows even more what kind of person he was.

Words worth remembering. That sure strikes a chord with me. I am always going to remember that. He had wonderful things to say to be sure. A very interesting, intelligent and sweet man. I am sad he is gone now.

I just finished his book, "The Last Lecture." It was very inspiring and moving. He was a very strong man.
