Hi all, i'm new here
My brother bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with Vista a few months ago for £600 and sold it to me a few weeks later for £450. However, since i have had this laptop, i have had many problems. I used to have an older Dell laptop with a Celeron processor and Windows XP, and running games (Football Manager) on this computer was fine. But since having this better laptop, it feels a lot slower than my older laptop and there have been numerous times when the laptop has just frozen and takes roughly 5 minutes to start working again.
My main problem, though, is that i have had countless blue screens. These have happened roughly one every day or two for the past two-three weeks but in the last day or so i have had at least five. A friend told me that Vista had known problems with Norton Antivirus, which i was using, so i deleted this and installed McAfee a week ago, but as i said, the blue screens continue. When they occur, it does not state which files have caused it, and although it does provide a line or two of technical information, it say "Beginning dump of physical memory" and restarts the computer within a few seconds.
The annoying thing about this for me is that there is not one particular thing that i am doing when the blue screen occurs, it happens at any time.
i appreciate that i haven't provided any technical information, but i am currently downloading HijackThis, so i should have some information soon. In the meantime, can anyone see a possible cause of what is happening??
