Hey All,

How's this for my Virgin post?...

Very happy with my x64 Vista install, no other notable issues to speak off at all, except for the rotten Apple prog, iTunes. Ever since my rebuild to x64, my fresh install of iTunes takes absolutely forever to come to the desktop after the exe's been run. Almost 5 mins sometimes. I'm usually busy with something else and I forget that I've even tried to start the thing. Now I've got 85gb of music (13000 tracks) but I never had problems with the iTunes DB in 32bit. I'm also aware that there were issues with pre 7.6 versions of iTunes with x64 (which I didn't have), but the problem hasn't changed one bit since I'm up to the latest at v7.7

The time for the exe to come to the desktop is ridiculous. Can someone shed some light on it for me?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Cheers garmanma, but still not the symptoms I'm getting, even with 2 full uninstall/reinstalls using two different versions 7.6 and 7.7

When the prog comes up, it works a treat, no hiccups, no go slows. It's just getting to the prog even running visibly in the first place. Its in task manager upon launch, but not on screen. This is where the waiting 5 mins happens. A right royal pain in the rear
