When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Good Morning

I am running Windows XP SP2 in a VM on a MAC using parallels program ...
I recently picked up a virus that got through my zone alarm defense...

In the process of trying to rid the OS of the virus I have made matters worse...

Here is the problem....

Windows will boot in normal, selective or safe mode but it will not boot comepletely...
The desktop graphic appears but none of the desktop icons or menu bars appear .

I can use CNTRL ALT DELETE to call up the windows task manager and can use msconfig command to move between the 3 modes and
it (WTM) will respond to other commands such as starting up firefox, restart, shutdown etc...

The restore function had two restore points which I tried both of and now I have no restore points left to use...

I would like to get my OS back to booting up correctly in each of these modes before I tackle the system32/monger virus again...

Any ideas from the group will be appreciated

Tom
