Full Screen Doesn't Work

Starting about a week ago I was unable to go into full screen mode when using youtube and possibly other programs but I'm not sure. Can anyone give me help on how to fix this problem? When I click the full screen button it just goes to a blank screen that has a dark gray color. thanks in advance
