Im just looking for an am2 motherboard when i looking for one there so many letters and numbers in the name this is the one part which baffles me like for example theres an ASUS M2N-E SLI theres a M2V-MX - AM2 theres a M3A78 EH AM2+ ive sussed the am2 but what Are a ll the letters and numbers about???? :thumbsup: :flowers: :trumpet:

Have you tried looking at the glossary for more information on each part? http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/glossary/ If it is not in there post what part you are looking for and we will be able to translate it.

Generally speaking...there are various versions of a given base motherboard model.

Letters and numbers added usually indicate a feature added to that board...which may not have existed in previous versions. Usually, it's good to read the manufacturers specs/features for that particular board to note the differences.
