Help
OK, here's the deal. My system randomly minimizes certain programs. It generally tends to be media player, the DVD player, iTunes while watching a movie, etc. It happens while viewing in full-screen mode. If it's in full screen, it drops down to a smaller view. Media player minimized all the way down to the taskbar. The worst is while playing games . . .it just dumps down to the taskbar. I've done a full scan and I'm up to date on definitions. Any ideas?

Most likely it's another program stealing the focus from the app that you're using. I'd keep an eye on Task Manager...Processes tab to see what activity you get when it happens. To get to Task Manager, just right click on the Task Bar and select "Task Manager".
Let us know the process name and we'll see what we can figure out about it.

OK. here is a screenshot of my processes tab. I did notice that when ended virtually every process I had manually (with the exception of explorer and task manager) there was no problem.

Open Task Manager and leave it open.
Then do whatever it takes to reproduce the error.
When the error occurs, look at the Task manager and see what's using the most CPU and Memory at that exact point in time.
That's likely to be the offender - and you can verify it by ending that process and then trying to reproduce the problem.

So once I find out what's hogging the CPU and memory, how do I permanently disable it (provided it isn't something critical)?

Run msconfig and disable it if its a program. If its somthing else then it would depend.
