Just got new Dell laptop with Vista Sp1 installed. Most things work the same as my previous Dell with original Vista with a few exceptions.

I can't resize or move any windows. When I mouse over the border I get a resize arrow but when I hold down the left button and try to move the arrow the window doesn't come with it, the cursor just turns back into an arrowhead. The same thing happens when I try to move the window by clicking on the title bar and dragging. The window doesn't move. What does happen is that a 'highlight' flashes around the border of the window and there is a 'ding' sound but no message pops up anywhere.

I'm sure this is a setting problem somewhere but I haven't found it yet.

The other problem which may or may not be related is that when I try to open the 'favorites' list in IE, if I tap the touchpad it opens just fine but if I tap or push slowly on the left button the list just flashes on then back off. Using the left button works fine for opening windows or links, just not for the favorites list.

Noticed some more problems;
Page will not scroll when I hold down the left button with the cursor over either up or down arrow on the scroll bar but if I keep tapping the page will scroll a random number of lines with each tap. Also when I click on the slider (or whatever it is called) and try to drag it to scroll it won't move.

These seem like strange glitches which I hope can be rectified.

Problem was solved by downloading a new mouse driver. Amazing that the driver in this brand new machine was bad.
