Ok, here goes....
I ran AVG8 and found..... Trojan horse Generic10.ATRW in a couple files ie. Adobe flash player and Programs\CommonFiles\System\smss.exe. Both said they were removed and sent to Virus Vault. OK. I also found .... Found Not-A-Virus.Monitor.Win32.HandyKeylogger in a HKU registry enrty...This was also removed and sent to the virus vault so it says.
I have had strange things happening such as the online game i like to play..suddenly I have a ping that is easily double what is was before the infections.....also I have weird things within Windows.. I open say My Computer and the title bar (the blue field with the location name at the top) starts out normal saying My Computer then abotu 15 secs later it goes to unicode boxes and question marks.....Not good I thought. So I am here....

I have hijack this.... I have a current report.... I have also run Trend Micor's House Call.... I have used hijack this to remove the HKU entries I mentioned earlier. Any ideas for me? Is this just damage left over from the problem or did I not get all of the bugs.... I can wipe the drive and re-install everything (at least 24hrs of constant updates and installs)if necessary but I would really hate to do that if posible but it is under consideration at this very moment.

P.S.-----
I have Intel 2.6ghz pent 4, windows XP home Sp3, AVG antiVirus 8, Spyware Terminator, 3.5GB DDR Ram, I have roughly 100GB of hrd disk over 2-3 drives with partitions on each,.
I have run command line options;
chkdsk/r on C: and D: (both main hrd drives on same disk.)
It seemed to make a difference at first then start-up and everything else went back to trojan/virus days speeds.... new scans reveals no infections....I know it's either damage from the infections or I did not get the whole buggar....

Thanks,

Jeff
