I have used Ccleaner to delete some software before deleting the shortcut icons on the screen, now I'm unable to delete them because it can't find the software. How can I get rid of these w/out the computer saying that this software is no longer in this folder????

If the Icons are still on your desktop, just drag them to the recycle bin and they will stay there until you empty the recycle bin. To drag them put the cursor on the icon and drag them on top of recycle bin and release the mouse.
