Do I have a firewall? Anti-Virus SW? neophyte in desperate need of help!

I was trying to post something on Ebay, but nothing worked. Their Live-Chat people said I must have a firewall, anti-virus SW or pop-up blockers. I don't know how to check my system for these things! Can anyone help??

IF you have XP and the service packs therewith, you most likely have the MS firewall activated. You may also, if you use IE, your security settings too high for Ebay's site (cookie blocking).
A few questions: is this a new computer, and which Version of Windows are you using?
