Hello,

I was just looking at Kelly's Korner and found that Site Advisor had given it a yellow warning. Site Advisor is flagging more and more safe sites. Anyone know of an alternative to Site Advisor?
Regards,

Alan.

I've seen a couple of these kind of products. None of them seem to be satisfactory. There's one called LinkScanner. The free version doesn't work automatically which makes it useless. Grisoft purchased it a while back and it looks like they plan to package it in the proposed AVG security suite to be available in 2009. I saw another one called Haute Secure that seems to have browser compatibility issues. And I don't care for Site Advisor either.

Here I have a fine Solution http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/to...rotect/download

AVG 8 Antivirus and Internet Security have also the Link Scanner integrated to their solution. Perfomance is good.

Unfortunately the most solutions supports often only the Internet Explorer sometimes Firefox too (but I think Firefox has a good solution)

Or to use a Firewal like Online Armor or Outpost if you need.

I have tried a few without much success. I have gone for the best Security Programs I can find.I never surf on the edge and I am confident,if I accidently hit a bad site,my ON guard full time will catch any nasties.
Also had McAfee Site Advisor, and a lot of their warnings are half hearted, because they imply one site is a risk simply because they are deemed guilty by association.
McAfee Site Advisor is being sued big time right now for declaring a Web Site,a risk.If the Web site wins, then we all lose.
If I can find the story,I will post the link.

I tried Site Hound yesterday and they dumped 15+ mb of extra on my PC,thats after downloading and installing,so dumped that one quick. It's a matter of choice, but I dont give them much credence anymore.

EDIT.If I was to use one,it would be WOT.
