When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

My computer has been infected with a really nasty thing. It seems to have completely taken over my computer! I'll start at the beginning - At first my husband wasn't able to access the internet so I told him to run spybot and adaware as well as Symantec. He did and they didn't catch anything. So he turned the computer off. When I got home and turned it back on, my wallpaper was a red screen with a biohazard symbol on it saying something about my privacy.I also could not access "my computer," "desktop properties," and a number of other functions. My "administrator" had apparently disabled that ability. I have since tried to run SmitFraudFix (it will not run at all on the computer), SUPERAntispyware, McAffee, but to no avail. Symantec will no longer run. After running SUPERAntiSpyware, the extra icons are gone, but the rest of the problem remains. I have heard of trying Combofix, but I can't download it onto my computer. I was using a jump drive to transfer files from my husband's computer to mine, but now that drive is fried (no computer will read it). I can't access the program to get an HJT file because I can't access the internet on that computer. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really can't afford to just wipe the computer clean, I have a lot of valuable information on there. Thank you, Lady Anissina This post has been edited by ladyanissina: Jul 4 2008, 02:20 PM |

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. -------------------- "THE BAD GUYS DON'T NEED A SEARCH WARRANT. Tried all the above and the install will not run, nor will the install for five or six other SmitFraudFix type applications? ANY help will be welcome, and if a consutling fee is required to achieve direct service, will provide credit card or paypal to retain a solution in shortest time possible.
SpyHunter claims there is a PrivacyCleaner,Spyware&Malware Protector, Error Cleaner- there is a Red biohaz screen/desktop/wallpaper; pop up has Worm.Win32.Netbooster and that is likely a hoax; any advice is welcomed. worm launched as regular codec update to media player- looked legit like part of regular MS updates. kakm |
