I'm currently using AOL's browser---I guess it's called AOL Explorer---because AOL is my ISP. I read Walter Mossberg (from the Wall St. Journal) on the Web saying that Firefox 3 is really great, even for a dial-up situation.

Two questons:

Approximately how long would it take to download it? (I already have Firefox 2, which I rarely use.)

Would Web pages really load faster (than AOL Explorer) if I use Firefox 3?

Hello Davide,

Approximately how long would it take to download it?
The file is 7MB. I haven't used dialup in a long time, but from what I can remember it should take around 3 hours (i think)

Would Web pages really load faster (than AOL Explorer) if I use Firefox 3?
There have been many improvements to the geko rendering engine that allow pages to be loaded quicker. If you nave the noscript add-on installed it will filter out the adverts which will increase performance even more.
