Welcome to Bleeping Computer, a free community where people like yourself come together to discuss and learn how to use their computers. Using the site is easy and fun. As a guest, you can browse and view the various discussions in the forums, but can not create a new topic or reply to an existing one unless you are logged in. Other benefits of registering an account are subscribing to topics and forums, creating a blog, and having no ads shown anywhere on the site. When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

I was recently infected with major amounts of spyware. I got rid of most of it (I thought all of it)by using Ad-Aware and spybot then scanning with Symantec and trendmicro. I also removed some items from add remove programs that I never (knowingly) installed. I stopped having Internet explorer open on its own and I stopped getting the fake system warnings. Now, however, my computer is extra slow to boot up and whenever I do a google, yahoo, or any kind of search, I click on a result and am redirected by hrena to other search sites. The only way to open what I actually want is to right click the link and choose open. Can some one help me? Do you need more information? I'm at a loss and very frustrated. Thank you, tina107 |

1. Reboot your pc, if you didn't already do that.
2. Now, make a new logfile with MBAM, and post it in your next reply. 3. Do part 1 of 2 of S!Ri's SmitfraudFix Please download SmitfraudFix Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present). Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply. |

Hello,
I didn't know how to create another log file other than running another quickscan. Here are the results from that: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.19 Database version: 919 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 10:24:20 AM 7/5/2008 mbam-log-7-5-2008 (10-24-20).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 56078 Time elapsed: 10 minute(s), 1 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) I downloaded and ran SmitfraudFix. Hi,
your logs seems to be clean again! Please, do this: 1. You may delete SmitfraudFix. You can keep MBAM, this is a normal scanning program. 2. Now you should Set a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one. Some of the malware you picked up could have been saved in System Restore. Since System Restore is a protected directory, your tools can not access it to delete these bad files which sometimes can reinfect your system. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state. The easiest and safest way to do this is:
3. Go to the Windows update site and download and install all available updates, so your computer is prtected against malware. 4. Read this page To prevent yourself against re-infection. |
