'start Search' Wont Work

Vista Home Premium
nothing happens when I try to use 'Start Search' located at the Start button.

By 'nothing happens', do you mean that searches are not displayed?

Yes that is correct,searches are not displayed.

How old is your Vista installation?
Have you recently removed any virus/spyware infections?
What happens when you type "sol" (without the quotes) into the box? (Don't press Enter) Check the area above the search box to see what's displayed.
