Hello Scotslass,
There could be any number of reasons that are causing this problem. To narrow down the culprits, could you answer some questions. How old is the computer? Do you know what hardware is in the computer? Is your computer completely up to date via windows update? What security products are you using on the system? Has this problem ever happened before? Could you open control panel=>administrative tools=>event viewer and look in the system, security and application sections for errors and warnings? -------------------- Regards

If this is an older computer, another question to ask is if you have ever taken the side off and cleaned the interior? It could be overheating
