Hello

I have recently installed Visual Studio 2008 for a developer. They have 2 log in's a general user login and an admin login. The admin login is used to run Visual Studio 2008, this all works fine, but when the developed tried to add registry keys it throw up an error, i do not have a screen shot of the error, but found a workaround of running regedit as an admin and getting the developer to manually add registry keys which works fine.

I am guessing its another vista issue, as we dont have the issue when the developers do this in XP.

Does anyone no a solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

As a "workaround" I'd suggest disabling UAC to see if it helps. But I haven't seen the affect that this has on Standard User accounts, so I'd proceed with caution.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I emailed the user asking for where the reg key that needs adding and a screen shot.

He replied "I fixed it myself"

User error i guess, he never replied back when i asked for the fix.

Thanks
