I am miserable with it for one (and only one) reason. The STOP button should be RED!!!

I'm happy now, after changing all FF add-ons for 3.0 compatible. I have no more problems with FF 3. Of course, nothing is perfect but for now my FF works flawlessly.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the way it works. I like the feature that allows you to skip back directly to a page you've been to, rather than pressing the "Back" button over and over.

I don't like the cosmetic changes. I liked the way FF looked before. But that's just me.

I am happy with it, but I must stop using the betas because it ruins the whole "wow" effect when the final release comes out. sad.gif haha. However, I am back to Opera though on Ubuntu. I must say Opera does everything I want FF3 to do, plus some more/less. The one thing I miss is the on-the-fly spellchecker, but Opera will still spell check just have to right click for it. And eBay doesn't work (the java-script / ajax) in Opera 9.51 on Ubuntu 8.04. Still has be going back to FF3 over that. However, it makes me happy and I like using the less popular but powerful software. smile.gif I like rooting for the underdog.

It runs smoothly, and I like the option that it gives you if you want to save your tabs for when you open Firefox again. In older versions, I had to shutdown my computer without closing Firefox so that I could restore my tabs when I logged back on. The only add-on I use is No-Script.

After getting rid of all the "2" stuff (profile folder and all) and a fair bit of "about:config" tweaking, I'd say, more or less.

I have had absolutely no crashes or problems with the new release, except that one add-on was not compatible. There have been some very good changes from the user's point of view, and it does seem to have a smaller footprint from what I "feel."
Regards,
John
Have to concur with john here. Except, its more than one addon thats not working yet. But then again its normal for FF to take some time for all of them working. Btw, FF 3.1 is out now.

Do you mean FF 3.1, or do you mean FF 3.0.1?

I just really hate that there are barely any skins and add-ons that are available at the moment. I haven't noticed too big differences.

I installed Ubuntu yesterday and it comes with Firefox 3. I was still using Firefox 1.5 with XP before. Have to say, that
it is quiet a change. One thing I noticed is I can not have a blank page once I have clicked on a link. Only have a blank home page when opening. Google appeared. So I changed it to Dogpile. Has anyone figured out how to just have a blank home page?
Another thing---Bleeping computer is out of focus like the images/graphics are distorted and the text is faint and small when I allow it to choose its appearance. Anyone else using Ubuntu and Firefox have this problem?
I haven't noticed any significant increase in speed either, as advertised by Firefox.

Have you tried the setting under Preferences> Main>Startup>When Firefox starts>(drop down )show a blank page ?
My setup is a little faster than before, but I was fast enough (for me) to start with.
Seconds to load a webpage:
Goggle 0.424
microsoft.com 0.670 (I never go here though lmfao.gif)
Yahoo 1.304
SiteAdvisor 0.533
bbc.co.uk/ 1.322
GRC.com 1.885
arstechnica.com 1.5991
youtube.com 1.464

on average probably 1-2 seconds faster
(times from http://www.numion.com/stopwatch/ )

No One---Yes, I set that to blank. The Google page shows up by default though once you have clicked on a link and
closed the link. You no longer have a blank page. That probably will require editing Firefox to have a blank page every time. That is why I chose to set Dogpile as "home page". You know, spread the wealth. If you or anyone knows which edit is needed, please let me know.

I thought maybe the Zoom addon was causing the problem with this BC site. But that is not the problem. Kind of odd that the images are distorted and large while the text is small and dim. I am still setting up so maybe I will figure it out if it is something that I can fix.

EDIT: I must have used Zoom and screwed up on BC. I corrected it. Hope it stays this way.
