Well, I'm getting a new computer.

I'm just wondering are there any guides on how to overclock it to its potential?

I want it to be really good, but not too good that it will shorten the life span of the computer.

Also, is there software I have to purchase?

Honestly, the overclocking features on manufactured computers like Dell, HP etc are very small... So really unless your getting a new board with it you might have to stick with program side overclocking.
If I am helping you and I do not respond within 24 hours, please send me a PM. :)

Thanks.

The computer is HP, so I think it will be program side, as you said.

What is the program called?
