The first contest is the HP Magic Giveaway, which is underway as of November 28th. More information can be found at this topic, which will be updated very soon with further information.

The second contests, is for the chance to win two Seagate FreeAgent external hard drives. More information about this contest can be found here.

I lost another HD last week, . . . .External< I ain't bragging about going through two hard drives in two years, but this was only a year old. I guess I put it through hell,

Unfortunately I can't run out and buy a new one like you rich guys but,

I would like to know if anyone has ever tried to connect two towers with a USB connection?
and using the second computer as a data back up.

I didn't google it as I figured you all couldn't wait to express yourself in a general chat way.

Has anyone ever tried a data recovery service they look expensive even though they don't charge if they don't recover ?

"How can I connect two PCs to each other with USB?
A5: You need a specialized USB peripheral known as a USB bridge (sometimes called a USB to USB adapter) to do this. Without a USB bridge, connecting a USB port of a PC directly to another PC's USB port can damage the computers. "
You would risk damage to either one or both power supplies and/or the 5 volt circuit on the motherboards.
You'd be better off using a cross-over or null network (CAT 5) cable. About $10-$15
USB bridge

Thank you Sir,

I have an box with a 2-port Biotronics parallel Switch Kit here, (Belkin) Cable included, it's quite possible that it has something in it that might meet the requirements, it's never been used, but I no nothing about it, I'll check it out and see if there is anything interesting in it, what I don't want to do is screw anything up. So unless you post back I won't be doing anything for a day or two.

Bitronics Data Switch Kit
That will not work. That is simply a switch for using one USB device between 2 computers.
