Internet Cookies Q. Do you really need to reformat your hard drive?
A. Maybe not, there are a few options, first try scanning your computer for bugs and spy ware. Ad-Aware SE Personal is a free spy ware removal tool downloadable from www.lavasoft.com. I also recommend EasyClaeaner from Toni Arts, free download from www.toniarts.com. EasyCleaner

Next, you'll want a boot disk. To make a boot disk for Windows ME fallow these steps: COMPLETELY GONE! RMEMBER - everthing past this point will erase everything on your C: drive! Backup anything important before doing this! Of course, do this at your own risk. 1.Click on "Start"
2."Settings"
3."Control Panel"
4.Double click on "Add/Remove Programs"
5.You will see tabs "Install/Uninstall," "Windows Setup" and "Startup Disk" click on "Startup Disk"
6.Insert one formatted 3 ½ floppy
7.Then click on the "Create Disk"
8.You will be prompted to insert your Windows ME CD it probably came with your new computer system.
9.Then it will make a boot disk.
First you have to back up all the important data on your computer, to do this you have to ether, have a 3 1/2 floppy drive or a CD ROM drive with a burner installed. I personal like to burn to a CD because it can hold more than a 3 1/2 floppy. You have to back up anything that you cant live without this includes: pictures, songs that you paid for via the Internet, tax files, or any other files that you can't do with out. Don't backup games that you have on a CD already, because you can reinstall them again. Maybe do it twice because after you're done formatting the files
Next,
1.Shut your computer down place your boot disk into the computer's A: drive (the 3½ drive) and turn the machine on. It will boot to an A: prompt screen.
2.If you're 100% sure all your files are safely backed up, type the line below at the A: prompt:
format C:
That's the word "format", a space, "C:", a space, and "/s" That tells the computer to format the C: drive as a bootable drive.
3.You will be asked to confirm, do so.
4.Fallow the on screen instructions.
5.And you're all set.
Reformat & Reinstalling Windows Millennium

*You'll have to install ever thing again: including
*Internet Connection
*Anti Virus
*Spy Ware Removal
*Text Editor
*CD Burner
*Web Explore
*Any Games You Have On CD
*Backed Up Files
3.You will be asked to confirm, do so.
4.Fallow the on screen instructions.
5.And you're all set.
