Frustratingly, neither Norton 360 nor PCTools Spyware Doctor detected anything out of the ordinary (only the usual tracking cookies). The computer didn't seem particularly slower than normal at that time. At times however Firefox would just fail to load any webpages whatsoever until I restarted firefox. Now and then windows would keep crashing and restarting everytime i tried to reload a webpage (I usually use firefox, but when I tried internet explorer just to see if it would work it was much worst as it continually tried to keep opening new windows. A day or two later I started getting a slew of messages from I believe Spyware Doctor telling me certain files were trying to access a .dll file that wasn't there. Later still Norton 360 would tell me I have a Trojan.Vundo infection. However when I click on the button to fix it it tells me that its processing, but then unfortunately nothing seems to happen thereafter. I've tried running VundoFix.exe and VirtumundoBeGone v1.5 but neither were able to detect any infections. Most recently, my windows menu and window outlines/frames have reverted to a windows 98 appearance with the grey bars (I'm currently running Vista). Also, I did run a Kaspersky scan (which found nothing). I tried saving the report to my computer in the Documents folder but when I opened the folder the file was not there. When I tried saving it again however, the Firefox dialogbox showed that the file was there but I still can't find it. When I tried switching to a specific harddrive the Firefox dialog window would refuse and just keep bouncing me back out. Please find the text of the DSS scan files below. Hi
Please Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here :- http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html or here :- http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. * Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply. THEN ... Please follow these directions to run Combofix & post a log. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix steam -------------------- MICROSOFT MVP - Windows Security 2004/9
