BleepingComputer.com: Absolutely clueless

iexplore.exe is taking up all the memory space when I check window task manager. And I've read the previous post and it told me I needed to make this new file called hijack in my directory, but I don't even know what a directory is, so I don't know how to create a new file there. Any kind of help here would be fabolous.

Create a directory on your hardrive, to save HijackThis.exe, called c:\hijackthis. This is a mandatory step, for the backup and restore functions, of HijackThis, to be able to work.

A directory is another name for a folder.

To make a new folder under the c: drive go to Start>My Computer, then double click on the icon for the disk drive (C:) a window will open showing you the folders and files already in the C: drive. Open the 'File' menu at the top of that window and ther should be a 'New >' entry in the menu. Hold your mouse pointer over this and a submenu will appear to the right. Move into the sub-menu and click 'Folder'. The sub menu will disappear and a new folder will be in the window waiting for you to name it. Name it "hijackthis" as Grinler said, then continue with his instructions.
