Hello,

I tried looking through the forum and couldnt find another post with this problem. I also cant do many of the diagnostic tests because my computer isnt recognizing the hard drive. But here is my problem: I was just watching a video, it started to skip (as does happen with a cyclic redundancy check) and then the video stopped playing. I then realized that my entire drive was missing when I opened "My Computer." I went into Disk Management in the control panel to see that my WD 500GB was "Missing." This drive was part of a JBOD configuration with a 1TB drive. The 1TB drive is still present but has failed because the other half of the JBOD is missing. I have all my data backed up so I didnt care if wiped the drive and restarted. I deleted the volume in disk management and tried replugging it, restarting, etc. and the computer wont find the drive. Is there more to installing the hard drive or is there a possible BIOS setting that I can configure to figure this out or is it just failed? How can I test to see if it is failed...try hooking it up to another computer or another way?

Thanks a bunch.
