First, the reason I reinstall Livin' Large because after I install it and play it for a while,I install Hot Date, but something when wrong and when I play the sims again,an error come up. So,I deleted the folders (since when I click uninstall it ask for my cd and when I do that,it just install it again, and doesn't fix the problem) Ok,after that,I install The Sims, and it went fine, but after that, when installing Livin' Large,it said that version 1.2 is already install and aborting installation. I read someway on google that the only way to fix it is to delete the registry related to the sims, but I'm not going to do that and wreck my computer! So,any help? |

the problem comes directly from you deleting the folders and not uninstalling it, when you delete the folders you dont actually remove the program...
as for a fix, you will need to try to repair the installation, does the livin large not have a repair option when you get into the installer? it should be if i remember correctly, -------------------- ![]() QUOTE(Animal) when I was growing up, my grandmother used to intorduce me as the grandson who runs with scissors. |

I deleted the folders (since when I click uninstall it ask for my cd and when I do that,it just install it again, and doesn't fix the problem) So,even if I do the right way,I cannot uninstall the game properly!!!! This post has been edited by DarkNight: Jun 1 2008, 11:42 PM |

I had a problem with Re-installing the Sims once.
It took me ages to find out how to fix it. Although my problem was slightly different you can try this method. Try the SimEraser, this should get rid of everthing related to the game so you can start a fresh. Sim Eraser Not sure if it will work but you could give it a shot. Hope this helps. -------------------- If I'm giving you help and I don't reply within 24 hours PM me with the topic link. |
