After uninstalling Adaware 2007 and installing Adaware 2008 I tried to do a deep scan.

Every time I do so the program crashes when it scans Lavasoft/MiniMessage on the C hard disk. The folder Min Message has two files called "1" and "2".

Anyone having the same problem with Adaware 2008? I had no problems at all when using Adaware 2007.

Coul someone please let me know what I need to do to solve this problem.

Thanks,

David

Are you using the paid or free version? Have you tried running your scans in "Safe Mode"?

The main difference between Ad-Aware 2007 and Ad-Aware 2008 is the extended AV engine. I have read on the Ad-Aware forums that there is a compatability issue with Symantec Antivirus Enterprise 7. Do you have Symantec installed.

I've not tried running a scan in Safe Mode. With Adaware 2007 it wasn't necessary to do this.

I haven't got Symantec installed as I use Kaspersky Internet Security 7.

Do I need to make some changes in the setting so that Adaware 2008 doens't crash while scanning?

Thanks for your help.

David

Without knowing why its crashing, there is no way to tell if this is a problem related to its settings. If no one else replies with a similar issue and possible suggestion, I suggest you contact Lavasoft Technical Support or check with their Lavasoft Support Forums.
