I have a toshiba with a camera and the menu pane always gets in my way; i want to turn it off and not start when the computer starts. how do i do this? thanks, teresacubed

Startup Programs how do I change what runs when vista starts

Hi teresacubed,
I am not sure I understand your question. In your title, it looks like you're talking about 'changing start up programs' and in the body you seem to be referring to 'turning off' a Vista feature.
Are you talking about the Preview pane which allows one to see a preview of the highlighted image, video, or document file in the opened Windows Explorer window without opening it? If that is the case, please see if this link helps: How to Enable or Disable the Preview Pane in Vista

Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>Run
In the dialog box, type msconfig. In the window that pops up, click the Startup tab. Uncheck anything related to the camera.
