Hi, your motherboard should have two IDE connectors. They are probably labeled 0 and 1. If you want to run two cd drives or a dvd and a cd keep them together on the second IDE connector. Don't forget to check the jumper setting on each drive. I usually use CS which is short for Cable Select. In other words which ever connector on the ribbon cable the drive is connected to will determine whether it is master or slave, the end connector being for the master and the middle for the slave. Oh yeah, keep hard drives together too, on the motherboard connector labeled 0.
It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.
