When I linked through to the Embarq security from the "My Embarq" page,it said,in red letters,to uninstall all the stuff I have now.

Right now,I'm using these programs:

--Zone Alarms's free firewall
--Ad Aware 2008 free
--Spyware Blaster free
--AVG anti virus free

Is what I am using now enough?

If it's not,and I download the Embarq security,

1.Will it conflict harmfully with anything I have installed now?

2.Will it slow down my computer?

--------------------------

Thank you.

I am no fan of security suites for at least two reasons: 1) the components, generally purchased from different companies, are poorly interfaced and clunky; 2) the modules are often uneven in quality and security performance.
Their request to uninstall what you have now, if you elect to use their security suite, was made to avoid conflicts between two firewalls, AVs, etc..

Personally, I would recommend you stay with what you have.

John

Thank you both.

I would get rid off Ad-aware, and throw in SUPERAntispyware. Ad-aware is past it's prime; SAS is the best!
