I recently upgraded my harddrive and am trying to reinstall itunes I backed every thing up on my external harddrive and am wondering how I go about importing my music, movies, and play list back to i-tunes? Would it work if I just hook my i-pod back to my computer would it put all my stuff that was on my i-pod back to itunes?

Thanks for the help and if I dont make sense let me know and Ill try to rephrase it.

Joe

A little more info I have a itunes folder I took from my external harddrive it has folders in it album artwork, itunes music, pervious itunes liberies, itunes librey.itl, and itunes music liberary.xml

Hi

I think I might be able to help you.

Download and install iTunes. Once you have installed it open iTunes. Select file > add folder to library now select the folder from your external hard drive that you want to add to the library. This will import all the files from that folder to the library.

Any questions?
Feel free to ask :flowers:

Try clicking file > import
and importing the XML files.

If this doesnt work we'll try something else.

I tried it and nothing happened.

Thanks for trying to help me out. Any other ideas or should I just start making new playlists?

I have a question. When you backed up your playlist did you rightclick the playlist name and select "export playlist"

because this is probably exactly why you cant get it back.

Well then no you will not be able to get your playlists back.

To my knowledge no there isn't. As soon as you plug your iPod into the PC it will sync. Since you have upgraded your HD the iPod will think its being plugged into a different computer and it will ask you to erase all of its contents.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help,
TZ
