You sure that message is correctly spelled? I find nothing, using Google.

Hello. I'm deba. I'm having a problem in my PC - a diaglog box appears at startup showing a message : "cannot find winmtipg.exe...." what is the cause for this? Is it due to any virus? Please help. (Moderator edit: added Topic Description. jgweed) The message you're inquiring about yielded 0 results at Google, Microsoft, Linux Ubuntu and Open Source It is not a known windows executable program. You might want to post your problem in the HJT Forum as it might be malware. -------------------- Now, just why in the Hell do I have to press "1" for English

You might want to post your problem in the HJT Forum as it might be malware. with respect, there are many tools that can be run outside the HJT forum that can identify and remove malaware if you look at the HJT section on here you may see it is a wee bit 'busy'? if possible it is preferred for HJT logs to be run only as a last resort after many scans have been run that will identify and remove nasties;HJT logs may be requested only if malware is NOT removable with the tools available on THIS 'side' OF the HJT section I for one think we need far more info ON the computer and the problem that we already have including what if any protection programs have already been run ON it and what they flagged up |

I've defragmented my hard disk and the message "Cannot find winmtipg.exe..." was gone at the next startup.
