Hey smile.gif

I was thinking of an idea that we could have with the Pm system smile.gif Would it be possible if we could make it so that once we receive a Pm if we have the PM box appear once one is received in our settlings if we could have it appear even if we haven't refreshed?

What I am saying is that whenever we receive a PM, we don't know we have received it until we either refresh or click on a like to some other page on BC. Sometimes members will be looking on one page for a very long time and don't realize they have a PM until they refresh the page etc.

If it popped up instantly within a few seconds of it being sent, we wouldn't have to wait as long and it would save time (Especially when your tired and don't want to wait for PM's to go back and forth!)

So is this possible and is it worth using/trying?

David

Unfortunately it is not possible at this time and would create a large amount of burden on the server for little value.

If you use a POP E-mail account, and have a client that will poll it every few minutes and notify you of new E-mails with a popup, then a workaround would be to enable E-mail notifications of PMs. It's a long way, but it will give you the result you want.
Cheers,
John

Personally I get enough PMs that that would be annoying. My email and a glanc at the 'New Messages is quite enough for me.

I just thought that since this topic has been done and dusted and their is no more point in it that it should be closed?

Sheesh I didn't mean to make you angry! Would be common sense to close it if it is not going to happen or if it is fully answered and resolved!
