So I've recently upgraded to ubuntu 8.04 (server edition) and until recently I've only been running an FTP server, and a small game server. How ever I'd like to turn this machine into a streaming media server, in hopes of freeing up 20 gigs on my personal PC. What apps should I be looking at? Could anyone give me some advice on setting the server up so it's only accessible through lan?
Thanks

Ampache is what i'm using. Pretty simple set up, but i'm already
running Apache and MySQL.

Don't open any ports on your router if you want to keep it local.

Also look at icecast...i don't believe it needs Apache.
