I work as an administrative assistant during the day. This job is scheduled to end in November. Because I will be at university part time, I have schedule restrictions and I feel like I need something extra to help sell myself. Are these certifications worth the expense? Do they count more than office experience? Also, should I try to learn Office 2007 even though we use Office 2003 at both my jobs? I feel like I could test now on 2003 with little effort, but 2007 might require a class and that would be very difficult to work into my schedule. Thanks for any advice you have to offer! |

Anyone who knows all of the ins and outs of Office applications has an edge in my book. Having a certificate to back it up can only be a plus

Even though businesses are slow to upgrade to 2007, having some certification would certainly be a plus on your resume, especially if you begin with "practical proficiency in Office 2003, certification in MS Office 2007" or words to that effect.
