My LG CD component (16X 10X 40X HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B) will not acknowledge DVD-R CD's... but does CD-RWs ... Can I do anything to make it use them? Maybe I should take the floppy drive out and put the original CD drive in it's place? I dunno. This is drivin' me nuts... time consuming! |

No CD player or burner can read DVD's , but a DVD burner can read and burn both CD's and DVD's. They're inexpensive now, about 30 bucks. If you buy one just be careful which interface you purchase, IDE or SATA. If it's for your Pavillion, it would be IDE
